Srinagar, Dec 20 (KNO): Normal precautions are enough to combat the new Covid-19 strain in the country, Director General Health Services, Atul Goel said on Wednesday.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), talking to reporters on the sidelines of the first-ever national level review and planning meeting in Kashmir at SKICC Srinagar, Director General Health Services Atul Goel said that there is no need to panic, rather there is a need to take precautions to combat new strains circulating currently.
He said cases have been reported in different states and deaths as well but most of them were of people having comorbidities.
He said that young people going outside need to take more precautions as they may contract a virus and then it may spread to elderly ones and people having underlying problems.
Goel said that the first time this meeting was held in Kashmir where Amarnath Yatra is being held and it is a very happy moment as the meeting is being held where yatra is being conducted.
“All the stakeholders were present in the meeting from whom ground feedback was taken to further enhance facilities for Yatra," he added.
"This feedback will definitely help in planning for upcoming Yatra 2024, and all possible steps will be taken in this regard" he said—(KNO)
